Mawaena Kai Board Meeting Schedule
Regular Board meetings begin at 5:30pm and are now held at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Community Facility, 428 Kawaihae St, Honolulu, HI 96825. Meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every odd numbered month. The 2018 dates are: January 10, March 14 (Association Annual Meeting), May 9, July 11, September 12 and November 14. Notice of the Board meetings is posted on bulletin boards in the carports 3 business days before the meeting.
Cancellation of Board Meeting Alert
Call (808)396-7737 (Manager's Office) after 5pm on the day of the sceduled meeting. If the board meeting is cancelled, a recorded message will announce the cancellation of the meeting. If no cancellation message is present, then the Board meeting is slated to proceed as planned.
Ready for a clean start
Now that the property painting has concluded we will be more closely monitoring the grounds for unacceptable items stored on lanais and in the carports. Let's work together to keep our homes looking great. Now's also a great time for those of you with docks to do an inspection and determine if a new paint job or other repairs are called for.

S.B.T . . . (Scoop, Bag, Trash)
Pick up after your dog. Dog poop isn't just stinky when stuck to the bottom of your slipper; it can spread disease if not properly disposed. Dog poop can harbor lots of viruses, bacteria, and parasites. So please, “SCOOP IT, BAG IT, TRASH IT.” It is a violation of the House Rules for any dog to be off leash at any time on the premises of Mawaena Kai. In both instances (dog off leash or poops unattended) a $100 fine will be levied for each offense.
- Quiet Time 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Monday to Friday; 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Saturdays & Sundays and holidays.
- Renovation or Improvement projects shpould be reviewed with the Property Manager to see whether an Alteration Request Form is needed.
- Storage on balconies, lanais, front entry areas or carports is not allowed.
- Hose Bibs need to be coiled neetly at your dock. Unhung hoses are a safety hazard and will be removed.
- Electrical Vehicles may not be plugged into the electrical convenience outlets in the carports. A $100 fine will be levied for each offense.
